About our giving
Without the burden of owning a building or having a paid minister the church is released to give more to missions. Read more...
A non-denominational church, River of Life is firmly committed to the Gympie region and building a fellowship based on community.
At River of Life we recognise that church is not about a building - it's about people; not about religion - it's about relationship with God; not about tradition - it's about living life God's way.
The church does not exist for the people - the church is the people!
In speaking about the church Ernest Southcott wrote this:
"The holiest moment in the church service is the moment when God's people - strengthened by preaching and sacraments - go out of the church door into the world to be the Church. We don't go to church; we are the church"
We believe that every christian is a minister, according to Eph 4 (The Message) as trained "Christ followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ's body, the church".
The City of Gympie, with a population of approximately 16000 people is located two hours north of Brisbane. Gympie is best known as 'the town that saved Queensland' from bankruptcy when James Nash discovered gold here in 1867.
Gympie is the main centre for the Cooloola region which encompasses the coastal towns of Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach and stretches to the Mary Valley in the West.
