Cameron Hughes and his wife Dianne, have been residents of Gympie since 1994, though Cameron is no stranger, having spent the first 18 years of his life here. They have four children.
Cameron completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physics) which led to employment in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory soon after they were married. He subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology. Whilst in Tennant Creek they served in various offices within a local church and he also studied through Rhema Bible in Townsville before making the move into a new role as assistant pastor of a local Gympie church, laying the foundation for their present ministry with River of Life. Cameron is a tent-maker minister (Acts 18:3), working as an IT Teacher with the local TAFE and is currently working towards a Graduate Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education.
Cameron's passion is to see all believers fully equipped followers of Christ being released to their full potential in the body of Christ. As well as this he has a strong passion to support and bless the local church, particularly those churches and ministers ministering in regional and remote areas.
When not ministering or teaching Cameron enjoys fishing, motorbike riding, squash and spending time in his shed.
Ready to shake heaven and earth, the focus of this family is firmly established on the people of Gympie and the future prospects of the town.
