About our Sunday service
For many people going to a church service for the first time can be a very daunting experience. The following information is provided to give you some insight into what to expect if you visit with us.
What to wear:
- We have no particular dress code, most people wear casual dress because of our climate. A suit or tie is definitely not necessary.
When you come:
Our seating arrangement sometimes changes, they could be set in a circular fashion, maybe in rows (but not too often) and we have even sat at tables and out under the stars. Take a seat anywhere,
nobody here 'owns' a particular seat. If nobody is sitting there then
the chair is probably free - take it.- Someone is probably going to come and greet you shortly after you walk in the door - please don't be afraid, they are just wanting to be friendly.
- Sometimes we don't start on time, don't be alarmed we are probably enjoying fellowship (that's church speak for being sociable).
What we do:
- Our music/worship is contemporary and we invite you to relax and join in. You can remain seated if you like.
- Most times we break for coffee/tea after our worship and before the preaching - there are no excuses then for going to sleep through the preaching!
- We take serious the Word of God and will have a time of preaching - hopefully not too longwinded - after.
- We ask people to bring their tithes and offerings to our collection baskets at the front, please don't feel embarrassed if you don't give.
- After we close you are free to leave, someone may again come and try to talk to you - they are still just wanting to be friendly and again there is nothing to fear.
